Contest
Rules
- In order to insure a space participants must register before the event date by sending in a registration form found with your school’s art teacher or Click Here
- Participants will be provided with one sidewalk section roughly 50 square inches
in size around Riverwalk Nature Center for their artwork. Artwork must stay within the assigned square. You will be given one additional square to seat
yourself and any supplies you bring.
- Chalk will be provided to participants
in basic colors of: black, white, pink, orange, yellow, green,
blue, and purple. If additional colors are needed they must be
provided by the participant. Chalk must be eco-friendly. No oil-based
chalks or pastels.
- Artwork design is up to the participant
but must fit the theme of “Under the Water of The Indian River Lagoon.”
- Participants will have from 10:00
am to 12:00 noon on Friday, March 21 to work on their art. Judging
will begin at 12:00 noon and awards given out at 12:30. You must be present
to receive an award.
- Participants will be grouped into
three levels for judging:
- Elementary (K-5)
- Middle School (6-8)
- High School (9-12)
- Prizes will be awarded to the judges’
top choices in each level
- Judges will base scores on:
- theme
- creativity
- originality
- use of color
- first impression
- All
judges’ decisions are final
- One award will be given for People’s
Choice. People’s Choice will be determined by popular vote
of attending public.
