Parks Operation Areas & Commission Districts

The North, Central-Mainland, Central Merritt Island/Beaches and South Areas are planning and management areas with fixed geographical boundaries, while the boundaries of the five Districts of the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners are periodically redefined based on population demographics.

Since population is the determinant for defining Commission Districts, a Commission District may overlap two or more of the Park Areas. The distribution of parks in Areas and Districts includes parks owned by Brevard County as well as sites managed through use agreements with other agencies, including the cities of Titusville, Cocoa, and Rockledge; the School Board of Brevard County, Brevard Community College, Housing Authorities of Brevard County, TiCo Airport Authority, and the State of Florida.

The following is a list of parks by Commission District and by Area—
